The first “2010 Sino-Canada International Education Forum”, organized by VPEA with sponsorship from S.U.C.C.E.S.S and Shanghai Yuanbo Education Network, opened On 9th December, 2010 in the old library of Shanghai Jiao Tong University.

Participants included officials from Canadian Consulate General-Shanghai, S.U.C.C.E.S.S., Canadian school districts and universities, Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai international schools, Shanghai mainstream medias, overseas-study service agencies and language training centers.
Based on Vancouver Public Education Alliance’s new service conception and its successful operation experiences, the forum, conducted by experts on Sino-Canadian international education service, renowned scholars and front-line workers, had a deep and effective discussion on issues such as Sino-Canadian international education trend, the advantages of public education in Canada and its impact on china in terms of overseas study, immigration and cooperative education, the latest trend in international education and immigration, the latest recruitment policy, the needs of students and their parents, China’s current education situation, overseas study choices, misconceptions, employment of returning students, their opportunities and challenges.
Participants unanimously considered the forum as a good platform to have a deep discussion on international education issues, and undoubtedly has a significant influence on Sino-Canadian international education, while representatives from agencies and language training centers thought the forum enabled them to have a more clear understanding on current international education and its future trend.
Official from Canadian Consulate General-Shanghai expressed her will that VPEA, as a professional service team in Canada, would commit to a more diverse and multi-level international education and culture exchange in the future, and through building its efficient straight line of domestic and abroad service, successfully create its new model in terms of Sino-Canadian international education and cooperative education.
In the end, the “2010 Sino-Canadian International Education Forum”was successfully closed.
